The Inner Marriage : Hieros Gamos
Lichen Purple (applied with a Crows Feather) duality, multidimensional, relationships. Tea Tree Markings (applied with Lamandra) Healing, Protection, Womens places. To sit and truly listen to what is, to be called witness and truly hear with the inner ear, all the truth of what lies within. The crow is a wayshower of truth and the trickster, a strong ally to be respected or a perplexing foe. The markings are expressions of the multidimensional stories held within this space.
The Intention of this work is to record the mnemonic story of the masculine and feminine that is the inner marriage, and by doing so to layer the truth telling of out of balance with healing energy to bring awareness and witness to growth and understanding. This is the alchemic response to working with the energetic medicine of plants and place. The feminine showing up in abundance, or the shadow of this is never being enough, always needing to give until there is nothing left at all, the never enoughness.
The work is created in four series, representing the four directions that hold the container for this work, and also symbolic of the four dimensions of the inner sanctuary of the inner marriage. The inner alchemic marriage of the masculine and the feminine that is divided into the souls purpose (dharmic) and the purpose of the earthly body. Each series has 12 Images, sharing the overall wisdom of the multiple of the number 3 representing the spirit and 4 signifying the earthly realm. The concept of the Inner Marriage/Hieros Gamos was shared with me by Adam Gainsburg from Soulsign Astrology.

Artist Statement
Working with a 1000 year old Eucalyptus Tree that had fallen led me on a five year journey of learning and connection. Some of the leaves were used to create this series of work, that follows the lifecycle of Endings, Walking side by side, New Beginnings and Renewal. A lot of the wood went back into the community as sculpted native bee hives that honour the history, culture and stories embedded in the people, the country, and in its plants. Delivery
Slow Art
Working on a sustainable model of business allows for all people in the supply chain to have ethical working conditions and be fairly paid. Which means that all works (except original artwork) are printed/made to order. This takes time, and if your order is super urgent for something special please let us know and we will do everything we can to work within your needs. For all other orders our delivery times are as below.
Delivery Time
Goods will be shipped via courier or Australia Post. Once Payment has been received and processed, goods will be shipped, please allow up to 20 business days, some items listed are custom made to order by local Australian businesses, so we take all care to make the delivery process as fast as possible, allowing for fair working conditions and ensuring all people in the creation chain are fairly paid.
Deliver Procedure – What to Expect
The goods are packed using sustainable, recyclable or reused packaging, the goods are all made/printed in Australia using ethically sourced materials. I pack the final order from my studio in Queensland and will send you an email with the tracking details so that you know as soon as your new treasures are on their way.
Export Restrictions
Anne Harris will deliver to addresses within Australia and designated Overseas countries. Note Baskets may not be shipped outside of Australia.
Refunds
Defective items will be replaced or refunded. Anne Harris will not process Refunds for incorrect purchase or change of mind. All Refund requests need to be made in writing to sales@anneh.com.au within 30 days of receipt of purchase.
In the event that Anne Harris chooses not to ship an item, you will be notified by email and any amount charged to your credit card will be refunded.
Shipping Policy
- We only ship within Australia and designated Countries.
- We CANNOT ship baskets to Countries outside of Australia.
- Delivery is via third party courier or Australia Post.
- Most deliveries are sent Australia Post, unless it is decided by Annies Workroom that a courier would be a better choice.
- Shipping address cannot be changed once order(s) has been shipped.
- As the registered couriers are third-party courier companies, we are unable to control their delivery time. The courier is also unable to ring you prior or during delivery.
- If you require the goods to be sent express post or registered post, you must notify and pay a surcharge on placement of the order.
- Orders cannot be cancelled once order has been shipped.
- Shipping time may vary depending on your location, please allow 15 – 20 working days for delivery within Australia and we will advise estimate shipping times depending on country outside of Australia.
Shipping charges are determined by packing size, weight and delivery location.

Care
Limited Editions on Paper
These prints will need to be framed with a glass or Perspex front this will ensure the quality of the paper and print is maintained. Handle prints with clean or gloved hands. Hang out of direct sunlight.
